SpiceJet flights to Chennai, Hyderabad & Ahmedabad soon

Air passengers demanding direct flights from Nagpur to southern metro cities have reason to cheer. SpiceJet has proposed direct early morning flights between Nagpur-Chennai, Nagpur-Hyderabad and most likely Nagpur-Ahmedabad from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport by the year-end.
With SpiceJet's plans to start flights to Chennai and Ahmedabad, the Orange City will be directly air-linked with both cities for the first time.
On Sunday, SpiceJet started its flights from Nagpur to Bangalore and Delhi, adding more daily options for flyers to both cities. The flight will be operated from Delhi and Bangalore and will have a halt at Nagpur in both directions. The airline will fly its new generation Boeing 737-800 (189 seater) aircraft on this route and the fares (inclusive of all taxes and charges) will begin from Rs 2,585 on both sectors.
SpiceJet chief executive officer Neil Mills said, "Nagpur has become a major commercial and political centre for Maharashtra, besides being a popular tourist destination. With Mihan, the city has shown significant demand for cost effective and convenient travel option, which is why SpiceJet has selected Nagpur to start its flights."
The Delhi-Nagpur-Bangalore flight will take off from New Delhi at 7am, reach Nagpur at 8.40am and take off for Bangalore at 9.10am, where it will reach at 11am. The return leg has been scheduled for the evening, with the flight taking off from Bangalore at 6.20pm, reaching Nagpur at 8.05pm and taking off for New Delhi at 8.30pm, where it will arrive at 10.10pm.
This will take the number of domestic flights being operated from Nagpur to 28. Apart from this, there is also an international flight to Sharjah operated by Air Arabia. The flights by Spice Jet have given city travellers additional flights to both cities.
Indigo (8.15pm) and JetLite (8.45am) have flights to Bangalore and Air India (9.20am), JetLite (8.05am) and Go Air (8.40pm) operate flights to New Delhi.
Samyukth Sridharan, CCO of SpiceJet, informed that the airline operates 192 flights daily to 21 Indian cities while on the international front it operates flights to Kathmandu and Colombo. "We are planning to start a Hyderabad flight soon from Nagpur, while plans are also afoot to link Nagpur with Chennai by the year-end," he added.
"SpiceJet will also connect Nagpur to Ahmedabad too, from where we operate almost 15 flights," he added.
